Are you seeking answers to questions about development, learning, behavior, or cognitive changes? At our practice we believe that understanding is the first step toward progress. Our comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessments provide the clarity and insight needed to create a clear roadmap for success at school, at work, and in life.
Through a collaborative and compassionate process, we help individuals and families understand their unique strengths and challenges. An evaluation is more than just a diagnosis; it’s a powerful tool that unlocks potential and provides a clear path forward.
We provide a wide range of evidence-based evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Each assessment is tailored to the individual’s specific needs and referral questions.
For individuals of all ages where ASD is a question, we provide in-depth, sensitive evaluations. Our process uses gold-standard assessment tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), to provide accurate diagnostic clarification and practical recommendations for support.
These comprehensive evaluations explore the relationship between brain function and behavior. We assess a wide range of cognitive abilities to understand how an individual learns, processes information, and navigates the world. This is essential for identifying challenges related to ADHD, executive dysfunction, traumatic brain injury, or age-related cognitive decline. Areas we assess include:
Attention and Concentration
Executive Functioning (e.g., planning, organization, self-regulation)
Memory and Learning
Processing Speed
Language Skills
Visual-Perceptual Skills
Fine and Gross Motor Skills
Psychological testing provides a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s emotional, behavioral, and personality functioning. This service is designed to answer important referral questions related to mood disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, behavioral challenges, and other mental health concerns. Through a series of evidence-based assessments and clinical interviews, the evaluation helps clarify diagnoses, identify underlying factors affecting behavior, and guide personalized treatment recommendations. Each assessment is conducted with care and sensitivity, ensuring clients feel supported and understood throughout the process. The goal is to provide clarity and direction to both clients and their care providers, empowering informed decisions for improved well-being.
When a child or adult is struggling in an academic setting, a psychoeducational evaluation can uncover the “why” behind the challenges. We identify specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia, as well as other issues that may be impacting academic performance. The goal is to provide a detailed profile of learning strengths and weaknesses to guide educational planning and accommodations.
If you are a parent who disagrees with the results of your child’s school district evaluation, you have the right to request an IEE from an outside provider. We conduct thorough, objective evaluations to provide a valuable second opinion and ensure your child’s educational needs are fully understood.
We partner with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) to conduct assessments for adults with disabilities. These evaluations help identify cognitive and psychological strengths and barriers to support individuals in achieving their employment and
career goals.
We strive to make the assessment process as transparent and comfortable as possible.
Initial Consultation: We begin by meeting with you remotely or in person to discuss your concerns, gather background information, and clarify the goals for the evaluation.
Assessment Sessions: All testing sessions are conducted in person in a quiet, one-on-one setting to ensure accurate and meaningful results. The length and number of sessions vary depending on the type of evaluation. A variety of standardized, interactive measures are used to provide a comprehensive understanding of each individual’s cognitive and emotional functioning.
Feedback Session: Once scoring and interpretation are complete, we will meet with you remotely or in person to discuss the results in detail, answer all your questions, and collaboratively review recommendations.
Comprehensive Report: You will receive a detailed written report that explains the findings and provides clear, actionable recommendations for home, school, or work.
Our comprehensive evaluations translate complex questions about behavior, learning, and mental health into a clear, actionable plan for you or your family.
We offer tailored assessments for children, adolescents, and adults to address concerns ranging from developmental delays and learning disabilities to adult cognitive changes.
Yes. We provide testing services for children, adolescents, and adults, depending on the referral reason and presenting concerns. Our evaluations are tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring that the testing process and recommendations are developmentally appropriate and clinically meaningful.
No, a referral is not required to schedule an evaluation. Many families and individuals contact us directly to seek clarity on their own. While we often collaborate with schools, doctors, and therapists, you are welcome to schedule a confidential consultation with us at any time to discuss your concerns and determine if an assessment is the right next step.
This is a common question. A school evaluation is typically focused on determining if a child is eligible for special education services under specific educational laws (like an IEP). Our private evaluations can provide a more comprehensive diagnostic picture, exploring a wider range of cognitive and psychological functions. We can diagnose clinical conditions (like ADHD, autism, or anxiety disorders) and provide detailed recommendations for support and therapy both in and out of the school environment.
The best preparation is to ensure your child has a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on the day of the appointment. If your child is receiving ADOS-2 testing for autism, please plan to bring two preferred snacks that will be incorporated as part of the ADOS-2 administration. Regardless of age, please note that testing sessions can last anywhere from 2 to 4+ hours, depending on the client and referral questions. We recommend eating before you arrive, dressing comfortably, and bringing your own snacks to enjoy during breaks if you prefer. When preparing your child, explain the visit in simple, positive terms—for example, that they’ll be meeting with a doctor to do some fun learning activities like puzzles and games to understand how they think and learn best. We encourage avoiding the word “test” to reduce anxiety; our specialists are skilled at building rapport and making the experience engaging, comfortable, and supportive.
The entire process is thorough and typically spans several weeks. It includes an initial consultation, one or more in-person testing sessions (each lasting up to a few hours), and time for our clinicians to score, interpret, and write a comprehensive report. From the date of the final testing session, you can generally expect to have your report within 60 days.
The evaluation is the beginning of the journey, not the end. After testing is complete, we will schedule a feedback session with you to discuss the results and our recommendations in detail. You will receive a comprehensive written report that is a roadmap for the future—it will include diagnostic findings and clear, actionable steps for parents, teachers, therapists, and other providers to help you or your child succeed.
All of our psychological and neuropsychological testing is conducted in office to ensure accuracy and a controlled testing environment. However, intake appointments—the initial meeting where we discuss concerns, history, and goals—may be completed either virtually or in office, depending on your preference and scheduling needs. Additionally, the optional feedback session, where we review results and recommendations, can also be completed virtually or in person.
Comprehensive evaluations are conducted to clarify mental health or neurodevelopmental diagnoses, guiding individualized treatment and intervention planning.
Specialized evaluations, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (ADOS-2), are utilized to assess for Autism Spectrum Disorder and related social, communication, and behavioral concerns.
In-depth testing examines cognitive domains such as memory, processing speed, executive functioning, attention, language, visual-perceptual skills, and fine and gross motor coordination to understand cognitive strengths and challenges.
Psychoeducational and learning disability assessments identify barriers to academic success, providing recommendations for educational supports, interventions, and accommodations.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) and Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) assessments are offered to support educational planning, career readiness, and individualized service programs.
Neuropsychological assessments for school-aged children help identify developmental, behavioral, and learning needs to guide school-based interventions and individualized education plans (IEPs).
