Dr. Mary Comis, Ph.D., NCSP
Dr. Mary Comis, Ph.D., NCSP is a nationally and state certified school psychologist who earned her doctorate in School Psychology from Duquesne University. Her dissertation focused on evaluating the effectiveness of interdisciplinary training programs when working on holistic legal representation teams serving at-risk youth. Throughout her doctoral training, Dr. Comis provided mental health services in school settings and outpatient mental health clinics. She also gained extensive experience working on legal teams that provided services to justice-involved youth. Dr. Comis completed her pre-doctoral internship with the PA Department of Corrections working in a state prison, treating youth and adults who experience complex trauma, behavioral disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, grief, and psychotic disorders. Throughout her internship, Dr. Comis provided crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and gained experience evaluating individuals with schizophrenia for a comorbid intellectual disability. Subsequently, Dr. Comis completed her post-doctoral residency with Wesley Family Services where she focused on the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders using the ADOS-2. Throughout her residency, Dr. Comis gained experience in differential diagnosis including neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and behavioral disorders. Dr. Comis also completed school-based assessments and provided group therapy to students who attended Wesley’s Partial Hospitalization School Program. Dr. Comis is a PCIT trained therapist.
Currently, Dr. Comis provides psychological testing, psychotherapy, and PCIT for young children, adolescents, and adults who experience a wide array of mental health needs.

Dr. Vanessa Talkington Michael PhD, NCSP, ABSNP, RPT is the founder/ owner of Psychological Perspectives, LLC. She has worked in various capacities in mental health since 2001. Dr. Talkington is a licensed psychologist with training and experience providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP), Registered Play Therapist, Board Certified School Neuropsychologist, and a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certified therapist/ trainer. In addition, she is Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) certified, trained in Alternatives for Families-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT), and provides specialized trauma treatment (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy [TF-CBT] and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy [EMDR]).
Psychological and school neuropsychological testing are offered to address and clarify issues pertaining to autism, ADHD, learning problems, and behavioral/ emotional issues. Dr. Talkington has treated and specializes in various issues, including those related to anxiety, depression, anger, behavior issues, autism, pain management, adjustment concerns, trauma, divorce, sexual abuse, grief, parenting needs, and other psychiatric disorders.
