Dr. DorisAnn McGinnis

Dr. DorisAnn McGinnis is a neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow who specializes in the assessment of cognition. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Iowa and has received advanced neuropsychology training. Her clinical experience includes evaluating adults with concerns related to memory changes and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological conditions, and complex medical or psychiatric presentations. Through comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations, Dr. McGinnis works to identify cognitive strengths and challenges, clarify diagnoses, and provide practical recommendations tailored to individual needs. 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. McGinnis is actively involved in research focused on executive functioning, cognitive rehabilitation, and healthcare access for rural populations. She is passionate about making clients feel comfortable throughout the evaluation process and believes that understanding one’s cognitive profile can be an empowering step toward improved functioning, informed decision making, and well-being. Outside of her clinical and research work, Dr. McGinnis enjoys mentoring students, contributing to professional education, and staying engaged with advances in neuropsychological science.
